JIM SUBLOO – COMPANY DIRECTOR
Jim Subloo’s experience
and knowledge brings leadership qualities and stability to the company.
His experience comes from working in the waste industry for over
35 years.
From early beginnings, as the operations manager of
a small council landfill contract on hourly rate, Jim worked his
way up to become a successful company managing director of Subloo’s
Pty Ltd, which currently turns over millions of dollars. Jim’s management
skills and knowledge of working with many local governments provides
him with great understanding in areas such as waste management, always
a major undertaking for councils.
A self–made businessman, with strong ethics, Jim has
become a respected identity within the local community. He oversees
all new contracts undertaken by the company.
At present, Jim controls and manages all contracts
and operations in the South.
His driving force and ongoing commitment, in offering the best
service possible, means all clients
will benefit from his dedication to quality customer service.
DARRYL SUBLOO - OPERATIONS
/ COMPANY DIRECTOR
Darryl Subloo’s 20 years' experience comes from
being a part of a family business. Starting as a machine operator,
on the landfills, Darryl progressed to manager and company director
(since 1996).
Darryl has been self taught in most of the operational
and management fields. His persisting hard work ethic and determination
has helped grow Subloo’s Transport Pty Ltd from a small operation
to an existing agglomerate of projects in various fields. Subloo's
holds many long standing contracts throughout Queensland, is a company
with a reliable and exceptional reputation within the industry, provides
outstanding streams of employment opportunities, and is
a profitable business.
Darryl undertakes all tendering processes,
staff recruitment, construction setup and all daily operational duties.
Waste management has become Darryl’s forte. He saw
the economic opportunities in this field and was the major instigator
in the company’s involvement in the recycling industry. Darryl undertakes
all operations of contracts, overseeing all work throughout Queensland.
Darryl's other
qualities have stemmed from being the chairman for the Local
Brothers Leagues Club since 1999, in which he oversees a staff of
30 employees and an annual turnover of more than 12 million dollars
/ annum.
Through ideas from a different set of eyes and youthful
vision, Darryl has provided the company with many different avenues
for expansion.
SANDIE
SUBLOO – ACCOUNTANT
Sandie Subloo is a qualified accountant, associate
of certified practicing accountants, qualified J.P. and has obtained
her real estate license, a certificate in body corporate management,
and at present studying further to obtain her qualified CPA status.
Sandie has worked in accountancy firms and in the
commercial industry for over 15 years. Her wide variety of experience
stems from tax return preparation, auditing, financial analysis,
cash flow determinations, operation of various accounting packages
and the implementation of these packages, extensive experience in
payroll, workcover, superannuation guarantee, the implementation
of quality assurance programs, and organising and calculating decision
making financial acquisitions.
Sandie has been in the forefront of
the running of Subloo’s Transport Pty Ltd finances over the past
8 years. She has brought Subloo’s from a manual listed accounting
basis, to a very technical and efficient
computerised system. Using a simplified accounting package,
Subloo’s accounts, including the general day to day accounts and
the more effective and one off type transactions are kept intact
on a daily reconciliation basis, having a close working relationship
via online banking.
With a staff of between 100-120 at any one time,
and at various locations, payroll runs via 4 different awards, in
which all employees are bound by. Payroll and the maintenance of
all employees needs is looked after at all times.
Subloo’s are continually
expanding, leading to extensive decision making and financial considerations
when it comes to tendering acquisitions, and the general monthly
running of accounts. Sandie, using her financial expertise and background
is responsible for making thse decisions and transactions.
Sandie has also implemented a quality assurance system.
All employees have full work descriptions outlining work procedures,
as well as monthly meetings being held amongst staff and directors.
All job procedures are properly document
in the manuals. Working closely with the
needs of the directors and staff, Sandie has maintained a very efficient
and excellent accounting system
and continues to utilise her experience in meeting the ever increasing
financial demands required to take Subloo’s ahead.
PATRICK DUNNE – OPERATIONAL MANAGER
Patrick Dunne has been employed at Subloo’s Pty Ltd in a managerial
role since June, 2002. Patrick is an innovative, flexible, people
oriented manager with over 15 years experience in Sales, Marketing
and Production. He is an excellent communicator with strong
analytical skills and is able to interact and liaise with individuals
and organisations at all levels.
Patrick’s responsibilities
include the management and overview of waste management,
recycling and construction operations. In the course of these operations
he has the responsibility of control, maintenance, direction and
involvement with most of Subloo’s employees. Patrick maintains a
high and respected reputation amongst all employees stemming from
his strong, efficient and fluent management skills.
In his previous employment, Patrick’s responsibilities
included the following:

Patrick is also a qualified
Tradesman Patternmaker and has completed a Marketing course with
TAFE. He has also completed an Accelerated Product Development Program
run by the Queensland Manufacturing Institute and has a Workplace
Health and Safety Representative Certificate.
EDWARD BELL – OPERATIONS
MANAGER
Ed Bell is the company’s operations manager both for the
northern and southern divisions. He oversees the operations for the
waste management contracts for all shires and sites that Subloo’s
currently manage.
Ed comes with a huge array of experience and wide
spread knowledge in the waste industry. His career in this industry
began in 1985, working for Cleanaway, Pine Rivers, from a driver
on collection vehicles, to Supervisor for Industrial, Commercial,
Domestic & Liquid Wastes and Landfill operations at Dakabin and
Arana Hills. He was responsible for trialling of new collection vehicles
and techniques engineered and designed by Cleanaway for various waste
collection divisions.
From 1991 – 1997, Ed was the operational / regional
manager for Thiess Services in QLD / NSW. He was responsible for
over 100 staff and vehicles, with sales of in excess of $20 million,
and the re-negotiation of existing contracts, including BHP Port
Kembla, Liquid and Industrial Contract.
Ed supervised the roll out and setting
up of new domestic and industrial contracts for JJ Richards, Cleanaway & Waste
Management Industries throughout Australia.
More recently, Ed worked
for Visy Industries in various capacities, including production foreman,
being responsible for the supply of up to 700 Tonnes of recycled
paper and cardboard and the day to day operations of Gibson Island
Mill.
Since Cyclone Larry in March 2006, Ed has been responsible
for the waste generated by the cyclone. 250 000 Tonnes of construction & demolition
material, and the mulching operation of over 3 million cubic metres
of trees, recovery of over 3000 Tonnes of steel and their recycling/
disposal.
In April, 2007, Ed joined the Subloo Organisation,
where he will continue to oversee all operations in the construction
and waste management sections of our company.
KEVIN BERTRAND – RECYCLING
MANAGER
Kevin Bertrand has been employed with Subloo’s for the past
3 years, as our Recycling Manager.
Kevin has a vast knowledge of
recycling and has been involved in the recycling industry for the
past 26 years. During his time, Kevin has held the recycle contracts
for the Townsville and Thuringowa waste facilities for seven years,
where he recycled ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, cardboard,
paper and glass, as well as recovering items for re sale.
In Kevin’s
employment at Subloo’s, he co-ordinates recycling at various Transfer
Stations and Landfills which we manage. The items which we recycle
include ferrous and non ferrous metals, plastics, cardboard and paper,
batteries and re sale items.
The majority of these items are transported
back to our main depot in Innisfail, where Kevin co-ordinates and
organises the processing of these items. This includes overseeing
the operation of the Materials Recovering Facility (MRF) we have
on site, grading the ferrous and non – ferrous metals, overseeing
the operation of our baling / compacting machines and organising
the transport of the processed products to southern markets.
TROY
KOPP – COMPANY MANAGING MECHANIC
After completing his Heavy
Earthmoving Diesel Fitters apprenticeship in 1995, at Northland Motors,
Troy commenced employment at AS Woods & Co, a diesel fitting
/ mechanical repairs / spare parts workshop, owned by Darryl and
Sandie Subloo, and has been employed their for the past 11 years.
Troy has graduated to become the Manager of the
Workshop and currently oversees 6 staff comprising tradesman,
apprentices, spare parts personnel and administration.
Being recognised
as the leading diesel fitter’s workshop in the district, with Troy
providing hands on guidance and leadership to the other employees
has led to significant growth in the business and an outstanding
reputation throughout the region.
Troy oversees the workshop as
well as the maintenance of our company fleet of plant, machinery
and vehicles, in Innisfail and
all our other sites throughout Queensland.
MICHAEL MARSHALL – MANAGER SOUTHERN
QUEENSLAND DIVISION
Michael
has recently commenced with Subloo’s as the Southern Queensland’s
division manager. Michael comes to our company with widespread
experience. He has worked with several local councils and multi
national companies over the past 9 years.
He has a certificate
IV in business management, assets maintenance( waste management),
and assessment and workplace training. He is a certified international
waste manager by ISWA, International Status 2006, and has a certificate
of attainment , in management and leadership in local government,
through the Newcastle University.
Michael has also completed successfully a
leaders course in incident investigation, contract establishment
and management, waste auditors, advanced safety and quality awareness
training, OHS Management Training, Chemical Awareness Training,
and Civil Works supervisors Training.
He is a member of the
waste management association of Australia, and the International
Solid Waste Association.
Michael commenced work as a waste collection
coordinater 9 years ago, managing 36 waste collection and admin
staff, and 2 major waste collection contracts. He was a major contributor
of the development and implementation of a commercial recycling
program, the development and monitoring of a 6.8 million dollar
operational budget, the maintenance of safety management plans,
public place recycling pilot program, and negotiation of waste
services workplace agreements.
He then moved to work for a multi
national company managing 61 operational and admin staff, in this
time he managed government and commercial contracts, reviewed productivity
reports and implemented appropriate action, he was responsible
for health, safety and environmental issues, budget development,
optimum use of resources, EBA development and negotiations, business
development, and preparing and submitting tender documentations.
Michael then moved to local government, where he serviced
24 contracts, ensuring all key tender specifics were adhered to.
Michael now joins Subloos, where he will oversee all operations in
the southern division.
